When he’s not working with clients, Derek is obsessed with his yard, whether it be upgrading his landscaping or meticulously manicuring his lawn (he actually mows it at least twice a week, if not more). He loves vacationing at the beach (Topsail Island is his go-to spot) and watching sports, mostly his beloved Denver Broncos.
Derek lives in Wake Forest with his wife Jamie. He has a son (Caleb) who will graduate in 2023 from UNC Wilmington. He has twin daughters (Emma and Isabel) who attend NC State University and two stepsons (Henry and Eli) who are in middle school and high school. He also has a 14-month-old boxer named Beckett who keeps him on his toes.
