With the economy not in great shape and home prices skyrocketing, is now a bad time to buy? Angie talks about how the Triangle market compares to the rest of the country. What has caused bubbles in the past? Why does this feel different?

Jean in Durham is considering buying a house for her daughter going to college along with another family. Then the additional rooms can be rented out. Can two couples buy a house together? What should they know ahead of time about this potential investment decision? What will it mean when it’s time to sell?  

Stanley in Fuquay-Varina is getting ready to sell his home. Should he hire a home inspector ahead of time to fix potential home problems? While some realtors would say to do this, Angie says not to. Why? Consider the amount of money you’ll be investing. Buyers will most likely still do an inspection, which is bound to find more items on the report. Not only that, but some buyers won’t have the same priorities of what to fix. If you know of issues, fix them now, but don’t do a pre-inspection.

Emma in Chapel Hill wants to know which is best to do first: to buy a house or to sell your home. Angie asks what will be least stressful? What’s realistic? How can you make it work? What risks would you have to take on?
