Mailbag: Repairs, Acreage, Angie’s Team and More

If you’re ready to buy or sell a home, you want to know more about the process ahead of time. Angie answers four questions from the mailbag today about repairing your home, selling to an iBuyer or Investor, buying average, and working with Angie’s team.

Anna in Holly Springs asks if they should do $10,000-15,000 in repairs to their home before listing their home or if they should just list the home and see what happens. Angie says this is difficult to say for sure without knowing what the needed repairs are, but in today’s market, it’s possible that you could just list it.

Alan in Louisburg wants to know when you should sell to an iBuyer or investor vs. when to go the traditional route. Angie and her team will show what the sales might be in either direction. As we talked about in our last podcast, Zillow is no longer going to be an iBuyer, which may change the market for that option. There are pros and cons to each option but ultimately comes down to what you will net and what kind of convenience factor you need.

Barry in Durham has a budget of $500,00 and wants to find a home with at least an acre. Where should he look? Angie says this is a good budget, but keep in mind that getting that much land may still be difficult to find within a neighborhood in Durham. Willow Hill, Willow Haven, Mineral Springs Acres, and Northwood Forest may be possibilities to check out though. These may be older homes but provide some opportunity for land.

Carl in Chapel Hill is wondering how many people on Angie’s team he’ll work with when buying a home. When it comes to buying a home, you’d start with a buyer specialist. Once you are under contract, you’ll work with our closing agent. You’ll also work with a lender, an attorney, and perhaps other vendors in the area throughout the process. If you’re selling your home, you’ll work with the listing specialist, listing manager, and then the closing manager once you go under contract. The team allows us to service you better and always answer your questions throughout the entire process.
