Mailbag: Where to Find a Good Starter Home

When you look for a starter home, you’re looking for a place to call your own that meets all your criteria. Where should you start?

In today’s episode of the podcast, Angie answers two questions from the mailbag. One question from a first-time homebuyer looking for a starter home and one question from someone considering selling their home.

Stan in Chapel Hill is looking for an affordable starter home. With a budget of $200k, where should a couple with no kids be looking? Angie shares about the benefits of buying a condo for your starter home. Areas in Chapel Hill worth looking at include Finley Forest, Hamlin Park, and Sheppard Lane.

Paul in Apex is planning to sell his home in six months. With it being such a strong market, why does he need a realtor? While you may sell your home by owner, the marketing that an agent can do may help you get a higher price point. More than the price, a realtor helps you manage everything from negotiations to getting to the closing. Having an advocate in the process may prove to be well worth it.
