Questions to Ask a Real Estate Agent, Part 2
Are you looking for a realtor? We continue with questions to ask your potential agent in this two-part series.
As you search for a home, you have to first start with a search for the right real estate agent. How do you know if they are right for you? Last week we began with a few key questions to ask and now continue with a few more.
You may have seen the shows on TV with agents who claim to specialize in a certain price point. Is this how it works with local real estate agents? Angie’s team represents clients with home at all price ranges and treats them all with the same level of care and professionalism.
Ask your real estate agent if they have a list of recommendations of people to work with throughout the process. The job of a real estate professional is to make your life easier. They should have people lined up and be ready to recommend the professionals you need. From the inspector to the lawyers to a general contractor, you will likely need some help along the way and it’s nice to have those recommendations readily available.
How does your realtor communicate? Some prefer email, text, or phone calls most. Angie asks, what do you, the client, prefer? Her team is able to be in touch as often as you want and in the way that suits you best. Make sure your preferred communication method matches your realtor’s.
When you are buying a house, how much of a heads up will your realtor give when it comes to red flags? Past aesthetics, it’s important you hear what could cause problems down the line. Maybe you still love the home, despite its potential downfalls, but it’s good to know what you’re buying.
If selling your home, how do you determine the list price with the realtor? What’s their strategy? Ultimately, you want a good fit between both you and your realtor.
