Why Are People Ready to Move?

There are a number of people ready to move this year, but what’s the driving force behind that decision? We look at some recent surveys to find out.

Let’s look at some recent headlines in real estate. A recent survey asked why people plan to move in the year 2022. What gripes do people have about their current home? What will they look for next?

Most people wanting to move wanted more space. Some are ready to go from being a renter to being a homeowner. Whether people are working from home now or have growing families, Angie’s clients are also often looking for more space. For first-time homebuyers, the rental rates are increasing so it might feel time to trade your monthly rent money for a mortgage payment.

The pandemic has been a season when many chose to get a new family pet. To go along with their new family member, people are looking for pet-friendly spaces in a home. Outdoor spaces are not only for your pets, but people are wanting nice outdoor spaces to enjoy for themselves as well. Other popular features include things like a good school district, covered parking space, a guest bedroom, and office space.

Is now the time to buy? Applications for mortgage rates are increasing as people rush to lock in mortgage rates. Before the interest rates possibly go up, people want to take advantage of the lower rates. Not only that, but as we mentioned before, more and more first-time homebuyers are ready to stop renting to buy instead.
